We are excited about coffee and food and we love to share our enthusiasm and latest "find". This year we have added fresh home made cheeses and pickles to our menu as well as pesto made from locally grown basil. Our famous tomato basil soup is made from scratch daily and our reuben is hand built with awesomely delicious fresh ingredients.
So, who are the folks behind these gastronomic creations?
In 2006, Texas Coffee Traders opened a unique, locally owned coffee shop and restaurant on the U.T. campus at the Law School. Named for George Fleming, the U.T. Law School alumni who generously donated the funding for the student restaurant, the mission of the cafe is to provide great coffee, great food and great service.
George's Cafe Summer Hours are Monday through Friday from
8 a.m. - 2 pm.
Specialties of the house are fresh, house made mozzarella cheese, house made pickles to go with the delicious reuben sandwiches, housemade cole slaw which is a great side to anything! We prepare made from scratch soups daily and always have hot dishes as well as sandwiches and salads. We are unique on campus - fresh, homemade, locally sourced and delicious!

Our General Manager
Chris Albert
Chris Albert first stepped on the University of Texas campus in the Fall of 1999. Four years later, he graduated in the Spring of 2003, walking off campus for what he thought would be the last time in an official capacity.
After college, Chris moved all over the country, opening restaurants for BJs Restaurants Inc. When he was promoted to General Manager, he settled first in Sacramento, Ca and then in San Jose, Ca. Running a new restaurant in Austin brought him back in 2007.
After that, Chris opened Apothecary Café and Wine Bar, in North Austin with a partner and group of friends. He most recently worked as a General Manager for Little Woodrows Bar and Restaurant in South Austin.
When this position came available, Chris jumped at the opportunity to work for a great company and be reunited with the University of Texas.
Our Chef
Patrick Halloran
Patrick began his food career at Zingerman's Deli in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He has worked as a chef for Whole Foods market in Illinois, Lambert's Downtown Barbecue in Austin, Texas and most recently at Vespaio/Enoteca .
Patrick's favorite item on the menu is the Falafel.
